AEW Not Scrapping Media Scrums Despite CM Punk Rant

CM Punk's outburst at All Out's media scrum hasn't changed AEW future plans

AEW All Out 2022 became infamous not for the content of the show itself, but due to CM Punk’s fiery appearance on the post-show media scrum and subsequent backstage fight with The Elite.

However, despite the media scrum not having the desired effect and causing a plethora of backstage problems, AEW President Tony Khan told Sports Illustrated that post-PPV media scrums will continue in AEW whilst refusing to comment on the events post-All Out due to an ongoing investigation.

The media scrums set AEW apart from other American based promotions, helping give AEW more of a sports orientated feel. New Japan also employs a variety of media scrum, but usually this is more of a kayfabe platform for wrestlers to cut promos and continue feuds.

CM Punk’s appearance on the All Out media scrum has been referred to by some as the ‘Gripebomb’, as the two-time AEW World Champion aired real life grievances about Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Elite (The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega).
