AEW Removes 'Vladimir Putin' Line From Max Caster Rampage Rap

An unfortunately-timed line

An unfortunate incident occurred during AEW's taped edition of Rampage on Wednesday, February 23.

Anthony Bowens went one-on-one with Orange Cassidy in a Face Of The Revolution Qualifier on Rampage and his Acclaimed tag team partner Max Caster performed his usual rap to the ring, mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Fighting The Acclaimed, you've got to be stupid. This guy's as popular as Vladimir Putin," Caster said, referring to Orange Cassidy.

At the time of the Rampage taping, though, Putin had just ordered for Russian forces to begin invading Ukraine. Seemingly to avoid any controversy, the line on Putin had been removed when Rampage aired on Friday, February 25.

Caster would still court controversy in the rap, though, pointing out that no member of Best Friends was black. The faction is currently composed of Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, Chuck Taylor, Danhausen, Wheeler Yuta and Kris Statlander.

Bowens then lost the match to Cassidy and The King Of Sloth Style will compete for a TNT Title shot at the March 6 Revolution pay-per-view.
