AEW's Hangman Page Jokes About Entering The WWE Royal Rumble

No Buckshots in the Rumble this year

Ever since IMPACT’s Mickie James was announced for the WWE Royal Rumble, rumours mills have been in overdrive, speculating as to which other outside talent could make an appearance in WWE’s 30 person spectacle.

Every non-WWE star seems to be ripe for the Rumble, with Good Morning Washington even asking AEW World Champion Adam ‘Hangman’ Page if he’ll be making an appearance. However, Hangman all but ruled it out:

“Erm, no, probably won’t be in the Royal Rumble,” Page revealed. “Don’t rule me out, but probably not. I like to keep my Saturdays open to be with family instead.”

Whilst stranger things have happened in the world of wrestling in the past year, an AEW contracted wrestler appearing at a WWE branded event seems pretty much unthinkable, never mind the AEW World Champion.

The WWE Royal Rumble is set for Saturday January 29 from The Dome at America's Center, St. Louis, Missouri, and we’ll have to wait and see what surprises WWE has up their sleeves.
