AEW Star Rumoured To Be At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 14

Will Wrestle Kingdom be Moxified?

Wrestle Kingdom 14 takes place on January 4 & 5 next year inside the Tokyo Dome and there are rumours that an AEW roster member could be set to make an appearance.

While there has been no official announcement at the time of writing, Jon Moxley looks set to appear on the WK card.

Dave Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio noted: “It hasn’t been announced but the belief is Jon Moxley is working the Tokyo Dome. From those in AEW, they believe that to be the case but weren’t 100 percent on it.”

Meltzer also speculated that he expects Moxley to challenge Lance Archer for the IWGP United States Championship. The man formerly known as Dean Ambrose was stripped of the title before King of Pro Wrestling on September14, as travel issues caused by Typhoon Hagibis meant Moxley was unable to attend the event.

The man Moxley was set to face that night, Juice Robinson, also recently re-entered the United States Title picture as New Japan's recent show in San Jose, California teased a possible match between Robinson and Archer.

Meltzer did acknowledge, however, that he didn't know if the eventual match would be a triple threat, or whether the title would be defended on both nights of Wrestle Kingdom.

Moxley himself has made it no secret that he would love to be at NJPW's biggest event, noting in an interview on the company's official website: "100% I plan to be at the Tokyo Dome. I don’t know who I’ll be facing, whether I’m still US Champion. But I’ve been in WrestleMania, in the G1, and this is the next step. Anyone who’s anyone in Japan has competed in the Tokyo Dome, so I absolutely plan on being there."
