AEW Women's Championship Match Set For AEW Rampage Debut
Britt Baker puts her title on the line against Red Velvet
The AEW Women's Championship will be on the line next Friday when All Elite Wrestling presents the debut of AEW Rampage.
Having successfully defended her Title against Nyla Rose at AEW Fyter Fest 2, Britt Baker was on the look out for her next challenger on this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. It didn't take long for a contender to become apparent, as Red Velvet confronted the reigning champion.
After a back-and-forth Baker told Velvet she would face her on Friday 13 August, on the debut episode of AEW Rampage, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she will have the home field advantage.
The segment ended with Baker standing over Velvet, having stomped her into the canvas and driven Reba's crutch into her throat.
Velvet heads into the bout having been ranked third in the August 4 AEW rankings. She is on a seven-match winning streak in the promotion.
The AEW Women's Championship match is the only bout confirmed for next week's AEW Rampage at this time.
