Backstage News On Damon Kemp's WWE Exit

Damon Kemp gone from WWE

Damon Kemp has departed WWE, he announced on X.

"As of today I am no longer under contract with WWE. Forever grateful for the people I met and the experiences I've had. For business inquiries - damonkempmgmt@gmail.com," Kemp tweeted.

Kemp will be taking bookings from August 12. Real name Bobby Steveson, Kemp signed with WWE in August 2021 and he made his debut on NXT later in the year. Kemp was initially a part of Diamond Mine until he betrayed the faction in 2022. Kemp remained a heel throughout the rest of his WWE run and he later linked up with No Quarter Catch Crew.

Kemp's final WWE match only took place on June 25 when he suffered a loss to Tavion Heights.

Kemp's departure was not part of a round of WWE cuts and the company simply told him his deal would not be renewed, according to Fightful Select. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Kemp's release was a surprise to people within WWE.

Kemp is the brother of Gable Steveson, who was released by WWE earlier this year. The Olympic gold medallist was released as he simply "wasn't cutting it" as a pro wrestler.
