Big E Moves Back To WWE SmackDown Brand

The New Day's all together on one brand

Former WWE champion Big E is back on WWE's SmackDown brand, based on statements made during Friday night's SmackDown.

After appearing on last week's SmackDown broadcast to back up Kofi Kingston, Big E appeared again this week. This time, Big E was said multiple times to be, "Officially back on SmackDown."

No explanation was given as to why the move was made, nor has it been said if the Raw brand will receive anything in exchange.

Over the preceding weeks, Big E had teamed with Kingston and other SmackDown wrestlers (such as Seth Rollins and Xavier Woods) at cross-brand house shows.

In 2020, Big E remained on SmackDown in the annual WWE Draft, while Kingston and Xavier Woods moved to Raw. The three men all switched brands in the 2021 Draft, with Big E returning to Raw.

Big E was reunited with The New Day for a few weeks on Raw when he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on September 13, defeating Bobby Lashley to become WWE champion. He dropped the title in a five way match on January 1 to Brock Lesnar at Day 1.
