Brian Cage Teases AEW Return

AEW's Bryan Cage has taken to social media to hint at a return.

Brian Cage has taken to Twitter to tease a return to action in AEW. The official AEW account made an 'on this day' post, mentioning Cage's debut triumph at Double or Nothing 2020.

In response, Cage tweeted "About time to make a shocking return/ re-debut and do it again."

Cage's wording highlights the unusual situation between he and AEW, where despite not using him onscreen for many months, the promotion reportedly decided to extend his contract by one year.

The very fact that AEW's Twitter account decided to highlight a prior victory of Cage's perhaps hints at an improved situation behind the scenes. It is yet to be known whether he factors into company plans for this year's Double or Nothing, which takes place this Sunday (May 29) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cage's last televised AEW match came on October 6, 2021, where he lost the FTW Championship to former stablemate Ricky Starks on an episode of Rampage.

Since then, he has appeared for the promotion on the Chris Jericho cruise, but has mainly wrestled for other promotions - including an ROH appearance at Supercard of Honor 2022.
