Brock Lesnar Set For January 7 WWE SmackDown

Lesnar is heading back to the blue brand

Brock Lesnar has confirmed he will be making an appearance on the January 7 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

The new WWE Champion announced at the close of this week's Monday Night Raw that he would be attending this Friday's episode of the blue brand.

The Beast had been asked for comment about Bobby Lashley being confirmed as his first challenger for the WWE Title - with the match set for the Royal Rumble on Saturday 29 January - but Lesnar simply told interviewer Kevin Patrick that he will see Roman Reigns on SmackDown this Friday.

As previously noted, Reigns had been due to defend the Universal Championship against Lesnar at WWE Day 1 on Saturday, only for the match to be pulled late in the day due to Reigns testing positive for COVID-19.

With Reigns unable to compete, Lesnar was instead added to the WWE Championship Match, where he defeated reigning champion Big E, Lashley, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins to claim his sixth WWE Title.

Lesnar noted on Raw this week that he still has 'free agent' status in WWE, which allows him to appear on both Raw and SmackDown as he sees fit.
