Carlito Reveals The Hurt Business Pushed For His WWE Return

"The Hurt Business guys have always been throwing my name around in the back"

Back at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Carlito stepped inside a WWE ring for the first time since 2010. The former United States Champion lasted eight minutes in the Men's Rumble before being dumped over the top rope and he then teamed with Jeff Hardy on the following night's episode of Raw.

Carlito recently spoke about his return with Wrestling Inc. and Caribbean Cool revealed The Hurt Business had pushed for his WWE return backstage.

"A couple of the boys have been talking backstage like MVP, Shelton [Benjamin], Bobby [Lashley], The Hurt Business guys have always been throwing my name around in the back. So I think they're the ones that got the ball rolling, and then [Mark] Carano ended up calling me and asked if I want to be in the Rumble. It was a good two days," Carlito said.

The former United States Champion hasn't appeared in a WWE ring since his brief return and he previously admitted he doesn't know what the future holds for his WWE career. Carlito has had interest from other promotions, though, and IMPACT Wrestling and NWA have both recently contacted the former WWE Superstar.
