Change Made To WWE Title Match At WrestleMania Backlash

A new dimension has been added

The WWE championship match for WrestleMania Backlash has been updated, following the conclusion of Monday night's edition of Raw.

What was once supposed to be just Bobby Lashley defending the title against Drew McIntyre will now be a triple threat match that includes Braun Strowman.

After McIntyre and Strowman experienced dissention during their match with T-Bar and Mace earlier in the night, McIntyre demanded a match with Strowman later in the evening. Strowman went to Adam Pearce and said that if he beats McIntyre, he should be added to the title match at Backlash, which Pearce agreed to.

In that main event match, McIntyre had his Claymore cued up, but was distracted by T-Bar and Mace. Strowman then finished off McIntyre with his running powerslam, to secure a spot in the title match at the pay-per-view.

The updated card for WWE WrestleMania Backlash, taking place Sunday night, May 16, from the Yeungling Center in Tampa, is as follows:

* WWE World: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman

* SmackDown Women's: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley
