Charlotte Flair Comments On 'Becky Lynch' Chants During WWE Money In The Bank 2021

Charlotte Flair has commented on her decision to gesture towards fans who chanted 'Becky Lynch' and her and Rhea Ripley ahead of their match at WWE Money In the Bank 2021. 

Fans in the live audience in Fort Worth for the Raw Women's Championship match last month made clear their desire to see 'The Man' make her long-awaited return. Flair, who was about to start wrestling Ripley, proceeded to flip off the crowd before starting the match. 

Charlotte says she actually liked the interaction because it allowed her to have some fun with the crowd, but used it as an opportunity to tell the audience not to disrespect her or Ripley, who ended up having a match-of-the-night candidate.

Speaking with The Los Angeles Times, when asked about the Lynch chanting, Flair said: "No, I like it because it allows me to play back with them. And realize, if they aren’t reacting at all, that’s bad. It gives me a chance to play and have a cheeky line. 

"At Money in the Back, I may have gestured to the audience, but that was more like “Don’t be disrespectful to Rhea Ripley. This is your first night back and do not do that and you are going to enjoy the show and don’t do that to her.” And by the end of the match they were chanting 'This is awesome'. Rhea and I have never had the chance to dance in front of a live audience. That was our first time to really show them how great this rivalry has become."
