Chris Jericho Comments On Winning AEW Feud With Eddie Kingston

Chris Jericho explains that Eddie Kingston "still got the moral victory" in their AEW feud.

Speaking on his own Talk Is Jericho podcast, AEW's Chris Jericho talked about the ending of his recent feud with Eddie Kingston.

The pair clashed numerous times in 2022 in singles and multi-man action, including a one-on-one bout at Revolution, as well as the Anarchy in the Arena brawl at Double or Nothing, and this year's Blood and Guts match in June. They also found themselves on opposing sides of a six-man tag team match at the collaborative Forbidden Door pay-per-view between AEW and NJPW.

The blowoff of the feud came on this year's Fyter Fest edition of Dynamite, and saw Jericho triumph over Kingston in a Barbed Wire Death Match, with members of the Jericho Appreciation Society trapped in a shark cage. Jericho explained the reason behind his victory, which divided opinion among AEW fans, stating:

"For me, because [CM] Punk was the champ and he got hurt [...] Tony [Khan] wanted Mox and I to work for the title. I couldn't lose that match because I'm challenging for the championship. Had I not been challenging for the championship, Eddie probably would have won. He still got the moral victory when he tossed me into the barbed wire at the end. Even though it was rushed, we still had to get it done."

H/T to Fightful.
