CM Punk Regains AEW World Title, MJF Returns After Main Event

A noteworthy finish to All Out

Minutes apart at the conclusion of AEW All Out in Chicago, CM Punk regained the AEW World title from Jon Moxley, and he was thereafter confronted by a returning MJF.

Punk defeated Moxley with two Go to Sleeps at the end of a blood-soaked battle to become a two-time AEW World champion. However, in the midst of his celebration, the lights suddenly went out.

Through the darkness, audio of a voicemail left by Tony Khan informed an unknown individual that he needed him at All Out for the sake of the business and the fans, and would pay him X amount of dollars to show up as the "Joker" in the Casino Ladder match. He also added that he wasn't going to make the individual sign a contract extension.

That somebody was MJF, who appeared before the live audience seconds later, and stared down Punk from a distance to conclude the pay-per-view.

Under a mask, MJF won the aforementioned Casino Ladder match with help from Stokely Hathaway and several other individuals that Hathaway had acquired the services of in prior weeks. MJF did not unmask at the end of the match, leaving his identity a secret until the show's ending.

With the ladder match win, MJF is entitled to a World title match.

This marks MJF's first appearance since his worked shoot promo on the June 1 Dynamite.
