Cody Rhodes Denies His Entrance Attire Is Based On Homelander

Cody Rhodes again denies his entrance attire is based on Homelander

An all-American with blonde hair, a winning smile, a massive cape, and a penchant for dominating his foes, but according to Cody Rhodes that’s where similarities to him and Homelander end.

Rhodes has often been compared to the psychotic character from The Boys, especially during his ‘not a heel run’ in the latter stages of his All Elite Wrestling career, with Rhodes’ entrance gear in both AEW and WWE bearing more than a little resemblance to that worn by Homelander.

Again, though, Rhodes has reiterated that he is not inspired by Homelander in terms of character or presentation, saying the following to Chris Van Vliet on Insight:

"With all the love I have for The Boys and his performance as Homelander, the entire cast, and their production is first class., what a production. The robe is not based on it. The robe is based on military dress uniforms. It’s the little bit of scales, the gold are on my bigger robe that has the eagles and of course, the blonde hair and I think the AEW run where people thought I’m pretending to be a good guy but I’m actually a bad guy, which maybe it was what was happening? I think that’s where it really became is he’s gonna go full Homelander? Truthfully, Homelander the character is a terrible human being," said Rhodes.

Rhodes did however step into Homelander’s shoes for a commercial advertising the latest season of the hit Amazon Prime show in July 2024.
