Cody Rhodes Reveals WWE Raw Promo Was Unscripted

Following his WWE return at WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes opened Monday's episode of Raw from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The American Nightmare cut an emotional promo on the show about his father and the WWWF Championship before he revealed his intentions to pursue the WWE Title. 

WWE are known for handing talent scripted promos but that wasn't the case for Cody, according to the man himself.

Appearing on The Bump, Cody said: "I was just able to go out and speak in an unscripted, raw fashion and tell a story about my dad that not everybody knows. I actually have the title I spoke about but not everybody knows that story. That was my original impetus and whole origin story on wanting to be a wrestler. So, to be able to tell the world that was very special."

Cody also noted it set a good precedent for his second WWE run as he knows what he's doing on the microphone. 

Rhodes has done several interviews since his WWE return and he revealed he started thinking about possibly going back to the company around the Royal Rumble.
