Dean Ambrose Nearing WWE Return

The Lunatic Fringe is expected back around SummerSlam...

According to PWInsider, Dean Ambrose's WWE comeback should happen in the next few weeks.

It is expected that Ambrose will be at SummerSlam on August 19, with a return expected around the time of the pay-per-view. There has been no confirmation from PWInsider's sources as to whether he will actually appear at the show in a match or segment, but it appears his presence will be felt in some capacity.

Ambrose has been out of action since early December 2017 with a tricep injury, undergoing surgery at the end of last year to fix the injury. WWE.com gave an estimated nine-month recovery estimate. This month makes it his eighth in rehab, so his recovery is just ahead of schedule.

Over the past few months the former WWE Champion has been seen in Birmingham, Alabama with the WWE Doctors rehabbing the injury, and was later seen in June at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida getting back into the ring.

At the time of injury, WWE had just reunited Ambrose with his Shield brothers, with The Lunatic Fringe coming off a run as Raw Tag Team Champions with Seth Rollins - the pair won the titles at SummerSlam last year from The Bar. Following Dean's injury, Rollins would go on to find a replacement partner in Jason Jordan.

For Ambrose to have a match at the pay-per-view he would need to return on TV very soon to set up a story going into the show, so expect to see him back on our screens soon.
