Eric Bugenhagen, Several Other WWE Developmental Talents, Receive New Ring Names

Everybody loves a good name change...

Eric Bugenhagen, the eccentric cult figure who gained a considerable measure of fame for his animated antics prior to a January 2019 match with Drew Gulak, has undergone a name change, according to PWInsider.

Bugenhagen will apparently now be wrestling under the name Rik Bugez going forward. It's a name that Bugenhagen used on several NXT live events in late 2018 and early 2019, wrestling the likes of Velveteen Dream, Punishment Martinez (Damien Priest), and Kassius Ohno while using the handle.

His last match under the Bugenhagen name took place May 25, losing to Jermaine Haley in Daytona Beach, FL

Bugenhagen, or Bugez, isn't the only wrestler who had their name modified, according to the report. Trevor Lee, a former three-time Impact Wrestling X Division champion who signed with WWE earlier this year, will now be working under the name Cameron Grimes.

Three others have undergone name changes as well. Longtime developmental project Adrian Jaoude is Arturo Ruas, Jessie Elaban will now be Jessi Kamea, and former 3CW champion Luke Menzies will now be known as Ridge Holland.
