Final Set For NJPW Best Of The Super Juniors 29

Who advanced to the Best Of The Super Juniors 29 final?

New Japan Pro-Wrestling held the final round of block matches in Best Of The Super Juniors 29 today in Toyama, Japan, and the final of the tournament was set.

In the A Block, Hiromu Takahashi had to defeat IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori in the main event of today's show to win the block and he was ultimately able to do so. The Time Bomb's win left them tied on 12 points but Takahashi finished in the top spot courtesy of his head-to-head victory.

El Desperado was in a similar position in the B Block and he defeated El Phantasmo to tie with the Bullet Club man on 12 points. Desperado held the tiebreaker, though, due to today's head-to-head win.

As a result, Hiromu Takahashi and El Desperado will face off in Friday's final from the Nippon Budokan. Takahashi will be looking to make it three in a row with a victory, having won the 2020 and 2021 Best Of The Super Juniors tournaments. Despe, meanwhile, will look to avenge his 2020 BOSJ final loss to The Time Bomb, although the Suzuki-gun man won their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title match earlier this year at Wrestle Kingdom 16.
