Former WWE Superstars Set For NJPW Showdown

2 former NXT talents

Two former WWE Superstars have been added to New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Showdown tapings on October 16 and October 17.

NJPW will visit the famous 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the tapings and former WWE NXT talents Jack Atlas and Alex Zayne will be in action in the City of Brotherly Love. Both Atlas and Zayne were released by WWE on August 6.

Atlas will be making his NJPW debut at the tapings, having previously competed in PWG and GCW on the independent wrestling scene.

Zayne was a featured performer on NJPW Strong before he signed with WWE in late 2020. He was also a standout competitor for the likes of GCW and Black Label Pro during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NJPW announced Ring Of Honor's Jonathan Gresham and IMPACT Wrestling's Chris Bey will also be making their New Japan returns at Showdown. They will join the likes of Minoru Suzuki, Lance Archer, Will Ospreay, Jay White, El Phantasmo, Juice Robinson and more at the tapings.
