FTR Lose IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

Another title loss for FTR at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

For the second year in a row, Bishamon leave Wrestle Kingdom as IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

The team of YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto challenged FTR for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 inside the Tokyo Dome. FTR looked to have the match won on multiple occasions after connecting with Big Rig and a Spike Piledriver but Bishamon managed to break up the pinfall on both occasions.

YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto then hit their tag team finisher on Dax Harwood for the victory, ending FTR's reign as champions after 192 days.

FTR won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door in June 2022. They defended the titles twice against Aussie Open and Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan.

The Wrestle Kingdom defeat is the latest loss for FTR. They dropped both the ROH World Tag Team Titles and AAA World Tag Team Championships in December, leaving them without gold for the first time since October of 2021.
