Gunther: I'm In WWE To Be The Top Guy

Gunther has ambitions far beyond the Intercontinental Championship.

Speaking to NXT UK talent and real-life girlfriend Jinny for BT Sport, Gunther revealed he is aiming to be the top guy in all of WWE. 

"Joining SmackDown or coming to the United States...I don't do that because I want to be medium. I don't want to do it to just achieve a little something and then leave, no. I'm here to be the top guy, that's what I aim for in the long term. I want to be the guy of the company. I want to be in the ring with the best the company has to offer, that's what I aim for. Whatever way that will go, nobody knows, obviously, but that's what I'm here for...It's all or nothing," Gunther said. 

Previously WALTER, Der Ring General was repackaged as Gunther at the beginning of 2022 when he joined the NXT brand full-time after previously being hesitant about moving to the United States. The 34-year-old has since been called up to the main roster with Ludwig Kaiser and Gunther captured the Intercontinental Title from Ricochet on June 10.
