IMPACT World Championship Match Set For Bound For Glory 2020

Swann will be out for revenge...

Back at Slammiversary 2020, Eric Young returned to IMPACT Wrestling and entered the Five-Way for the IMPACT World Championship. EY's return didn't go to plan, however, as he was pinned by Rich Swann. Following his elimination, Young couldn't control his emotions and he unleashed his fury on Swann's knee, injuring the former X Division Champion in the process.

Only two days later, Swann announced that he was "retiring" from professional wrestling because of his injuries and it only got worse for Rich as The World Class Maniac attacked his knee again.

The two stars' fortunes have followed differing paths since Swann retired and Rich was forced to watch Young capture the IMPACT World Title from Eddie Edwards while he was sat at home.

Swann couldn't bear to sit on the sidelines any longer and he returned to IMPACT Wrestling last week and attacked the champion after his match with Tommy Dreamer.

Swann and Scott D'Amore met in the centre of the ring last night and Rich asked D'Amore to let him unretire so he could fight Eric Young. The Executive Vice President of IMPACT Wrestling was initially hesitant, but he made the match official after EY came to the ring and attacked D'Amore when he was trying to get to Swann.

With D'Amore's announcement, Rich Swann and Eric Young will go one on one for the IMPACT World Championship at Bound For Glory on October 24.
