IMPACT Wrestling Star Scott Steiner Makes First Public Appearance Since Health Scare

Big Poppa Pump is on the mend...

At the latest set of IMPACT Wrestling tapings in Las Vegas, Nevada, former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner collapsed. He was then taken to hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

Big Poppa Pump is now on the mend and he made his first public appearance since the health scare over the weekend. Steiner was booked to wrestle for New ERA Wrestling in Jasper, Alabama in a Six-Man Tag Team match, but he was replaced by Mike Jackson. He still made his presence felt, however, as he helped the team of Jackson, Cody Windham and Johnny Rage to the win and hit Victor Vences with some vicious chair shots after the bout.

Before the match, Steiner cut a promo to those in attendance in which he addressed his health. He explained he doesn't remember what happened in the days after he collapsed, and that he was given an 80 percent chance of living if he underwent surgery.

Steiner said: "Everybody heard what happened last week. A lot of people came to me and said they were praying for me and gave me best wishes and I appreciate that. I tell you what. It happened on Friday night and I actually do not remember walking to the ring, talking, walking back to the ring, collapsing. I don't remember Friday night, I don't remember Saturday night.

"As I was sitting in the hospital bed, the doctor came up to me and said 'the procedure that happened to you, normally you only have 80 percent chance of winning…of getting out of the bed…of living' I said doc, every time I step in the ring I have a 140 and two-thirds chance of winning. What do you think my chances are of jumping out of this bed? So this goes to all my freaks in Jasper, Alabama. Big Poppa Pump is your hookup. Holla if you hear me."
