James Ellsworth Referenced On WWE Raw

While he hasn't been a part of WWE since 2018, James Ellsworth was referenced on Monday's episode of Raw.

During a backstage segment, Dana Brooke accidentally bumped into Carmella while she was trying to get away from R-Truth which resulted in the former SmackDown Women's Champion calling her a sorry excuse of a performer. 

Brooke quickly shouted back a retort, though, telling Carmella the last time she was relevant was when she was with the "chinless guy." A back-and-forth between Carmella and Brooke then followed before the former SmackDown Women's Champion told R-Truth she would help him win back the 24/7 Title. 

James Ellsworth grew to prominence in WWE following an entertaining showing in a 2016 squash match against Braun Strowman. He quickly became a fan favourite, involving himself in the WWE Title feud between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose (now Jon Moxley) before he began to accompany Carmella to the squared circle. 

Their partnership briefly came to an end in 2017 before Ellsworth returned at Money In The Bank 2018 to assist Carmella during her SmackDown Women's Title reign. He was then let go by the company later that year.
