Jeff Hardy Vs. Sheamus Added To WWE Backlash

The rivalry continues...

Jeff Hardy is now set to wrestle Sheamus at WWE Backlash, stemming from the vehicular incident that took place last week outside of WWE's Performance Center.

On Friday's episode of SmackDown, Hardy gave his version of the events from the prior week, which resulted in Elias being run over with a car registered to Hardy, and Hardy being found near the scene acting impaired. Hardy claimed that all he remembered before the accident was being violently attacked. It was also revealed that witnesses claimed to have seen a man with a red beard and red hair fleeing the scene.

Sheamus rebuffed Hardy's claims, saying that the witnesses are enabling Hardy's behavior and habits, and called him a junkie. This led to a brawl between the two, with Sheamus beating Hardy down.

The current card for WWE Backlash, scheduled for June 14 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, is as follows:

*WWE World: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley

*WWE Universal/Handicap match: Braun Strowman (c) vs. John Morrison and The Miz

*Raw Women's: Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax

*Edge vs. Randy Orton

*Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy
