Judgment Day Members Emotional Backstage At WWE SummerSlam Ahead Of Split

Tears shed ahead of Judgment Day split

There were some tears shed backstage at WWE SummerSlam by members of the Judgment Day as the faction's split was set to become a reality, according to David Shoemaker on the Ringer Wrestling Show.

"There was some legitimate, legitimate tears backstage...because this family is done. The travel plans are changing now, your rental car situation has been altered," Shoemaker said.

WRKD Wrestling also noted that members of the stable were emotional backstage ahead of SummerSlam and the stable has received plenty of praise from WWE management over how the pay-per-view angles came together.

"Members of The Judgement Day were sentimental and emotional backstage ahead of the group's splintering this past week. The faction were also praised by WWE management for the successful big payoffs to their SummerSlam angles," WRKD Wrestling tweeted.

SummerSlam saw Dominik Mysterio first betray Rhea Ripley and side with Liv Morgan in the opening contest of SummerSlam before Finn Balor cost Damian Priest the World Heavyweight Championship later in the show. The angles saw Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest be kicked out of Judgment Day and the new version of the faction consists of Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, JD McDonagh, and Carlito.

Judgment Day was originally formed by Edge (AKA Adam Copeland) and Damian Priest following WrestleMania 38, only for Edge to be banished from the faction he created later in the year after Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor were added to the stable. Dominik Mysterio then joined following Clash at the Castle 2022 after his heel turn, while JD McDonagh became a part of the group in 2023. R-Truth briefly thought he was a member in late 2023 and early 2024.
