Kenny Omega Open To Teaming Again With Kazuchika Okada

Kenny Omega appears less open to facing Kazuchika Okada again, however

Kenny Omega is open to reforming his dream tag team with Kazuchika Okada in the future, the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion revealed to Sports Illustrated.

"I wouldn't be so quick to scratch his name off the list of guys I wouldn't help. Our match together was a wild-card draft. It was a fun time. It felt to me like, 'We had our thing. Our thing is done.' I've said it before - Okada is very sharp. He is who he is for a reason. I had a lot of fun teaming with him at New Japan Dash, so I wouldn't strike that off the list of potential people who I wouldn't mind having their back," Omega said.

Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada teamed together for the first time at NJPW New Year Dash on January 5 to defeat Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare.

The two men's careers are forever intertwined through their feud over the IWGP Heavyweight Championship between 2016 and 2018, but they haven't faced off in singles action since Omega came out on top of their Two-out-of-Three-Falls Match at Dominion 2018.

Many hope to see at least one more singles encounter between Omega and Okada but The Best Bout Machine doesn't seem keen on reigniting his issues with Okada.

"We're in completely separate divisions right now. I'm U.S. champion, and he's competing for the IWGP heavy. It's good to let us exist in our respective worlds and be comrades for a change," Omega added to Sports Illustrated.

Omega is currently locked in a feud as part of The Elite with Blackpool Combat Club. Kazuchika Okada, meanwhile, recently dropped the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship to SANADA. Both Omega and Okada are expected to be in action at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 25.
