Kenny Omega Strikes Back After Chris Jericho Attack At NJPW World Tag League Finals

Omega Blind Sides Alpha at Wrestle Kingdom 12 Press Conference...

After suffering a brutal attack at the hands of Chris Jericho at New Japan Pro Wrestling's World Tag League Finals, Kenny Omega has fought back by ambushing Y2J during the Wrestle Kingdom 12 press conference earlier today - an attack you can see for yourself in the clip at the bottom of this article.

Omega addressed the media for around 18 minutes before Jericho took to the stage. The leader of the newly formed Alpha Club could only get about three minutes of talking in before the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion returned to get revenge for Monday's mauling - In case you missed it, Jericho delivered a series of Codebreakers to Kenny and even bloodied the champion's head with his own belt. NJPW English speaking colour commentator Don Callis, a good friend of both men and a key component in setting up this dream match, ate a Codebreaker for his troubles and left the arena on a stretcher.

After a brief exchange which saw The Elite member batter Jericho's skull, the pair were pulled apart before the former WWE United States Champion launched a table at Omega and those holding him back. Once everything had settled down, Jericho addressed the assembled media again, saying: "This is going to be a match that you have never seen in New Japan.

"This is not about five stars, seven stars, this is not about how many times you can go for your finishing move. This is a fight, it's a war, it's Alpha vs. Omega and Kenny, you are going to get the s**t kicked out of you, do you understand me?

"I've been to Japan 60 times. This match is the most important match I've ever had in Japan!"

Jericho then promised to end The Cleaner's career.

The pair meet at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4 inside the Tokyo Dome with Omega's IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship on the line. Wrestle Kingdom kicks-off at 5pm in Japan, making it an early morning start of 8am in the UK (3am EST) on New Japan World.
