Matt Cardona Appears At NWA Hard Times, Attacks Trevor Murdoch

The "Deathmatch King" eyes more gold

Matt Cardona continues making his presence felt around multiple organizations, appearing at NWA Hard Times 2 on Saturday night in Atlanta.

After NWA World champion Trevor Murdoch retained his title over Mike Knox, Cardona made a surprise appearance to ostensibly congratulate Murdoch. However, when Murdoch turned his back, he was hit with a low blow by Cardona.

Special guest Mick Foley took umbrage with the attack, and instructed Da Pope to go after Cardona. Cardona took Pope out, and then continued his assault on Murdoch. He concluded by holding the World title up.

Cardona is presently under contract with Impact Wrestling, and is scheduled to be part of a World title match at Hard to Kill on January 8. He, along with fellow challenger W. Morrissey, will take on Moose in a three way match.

Cardona reigned as Game Changer Wrestling World champion earlier this year, defeating Nick Gage for the title in July. The match made headlines for its aftermath, in which fans in Atlantic City threw numerous dangerous objects at Cardona, including pizza cutters.
