Miro Vs. Sammy Guevara Announced For 9/29 AEW Dynamite

Guevara is seeking revenge

Sammy Guevara will be the next challenger for the AEW TNT championship, as he goes one on one with Miro on the September 29 Dynamite, announced by AEW tonight.

Guevara attacked Miro on Friday night's Rampage, following Miro's win over Guevara's friend, Fuego del Sol. Per the story, Fuego (a recent AEW signee) put his recently purchased new car on the line against Miro in a TNT title match. Miro won, and then beat Fuego down after the match, prompting Guevara to run in for the save.

Miro had previously beaten Fuego in under two minutes on the debut episode of Rampage on August 13 in Pittsburgh. It was after that match that Tony Khan announced that Fuego was being signed to a full time AEW deal.

Since winning the AEW TNT championship from Darby Allin on the May 12 Dynamite, Miro has has made seven successful defenses of the belt. Select opponents have included Lance Archer, Brian Pillman Jr, Evil Uno, and Eddie Kingston.

The September 29 episode of Dynamite takes place in Rochester, the first city to experience an AEW postponement at the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
