New Champion Crowned On WWE Raw

He may have lost at Survivor Series, but found gold on Monday night.

A.J. Styles was initially scheduled to defend his United States Championship on last night's episode of Raw against Humberto Carrillo. However, after an attack by O.C. members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, the challenger was unable to compete.

To ensure a title match took place, a fatal four way was booked between Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, and Rey Mysterio - with the winner set to face Styles later in the show. Mysterio ultimately emerged victorious after locking up Ricochet with an inside cradle for the win.

This is the second time Rey has held the title, both reigns coming in 2019. He defeated Samoa Joe back at Money in the Bank, before losing it back a couple of weeks later on Raw.

Mysterio's second reign kicked off last night, and fans of his will be hoping that this one lasts longer than the first.

Early in the match, Mysterio appeared to have victory in sight. With Styles lay on the middle rope, the challenger prepared to connect with the 619, but had his legs pulled from under him by the O.C.'s Karl Anderson. However, the referee spotted the interference, causing both Gallows and Anderson to be ejected from the ringside area.

Later in the match, Mysterio did connect with the 619, but Styles staggered into the referee, knocking him down.

With the official down, the O.C. returned to the ring and attacked the challenger - but they were foiled by Randy Orton.

Mysterio and Orton then combined to take down the champion - Mysterio connecting with a second 619, followed by an RKO from the Viper. After a Frogsplash, Rey pinned Styles to become the new champion.

With that, Rey Mysterio is your new United States champion.
