Pat McAfee Reveals Why He Missed WWE Hell In A Cell

Pat McAfee explains his absence from WWE Hell In A Cell

WWE held their latest pay-per-view/premium live event on Sunday, June 5, as Hell In A Cell aired from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

The show featured the usual Raw announce team of Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, and Byron Saxton but the SmackDown broadcast pairing of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee wasn't at full strength, with McAfee missing from the event.

Speaking on his show, McAfee revealed why he was absent from Hell In A Cell.

"I was not at Hell in a Cell, SmackDown only had one match and all parties agreed that it was probably not worth the trip to Chicago and back for that. It ended up being a 13-minute match," McAfee said.

That sole SmackDown bout was Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin in a No Holds Barred Match. Moss ultimately exacted revenge on his former friend after he drilled the steel steps into a steel chair that was around Corbin's neck before Madcap covered the former United States Champion for the win. Michael Cole and Raw's Corey Graves were on commentary for the match due to McAfee's absence.
