Pro Wrestling Returns To Mall Of America

The Grandest Stage of The Mall

Professional wrestling returned to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota this weekend, for the first time in 27 years.

Famously the site of the debut episode of WCW Nitro (which took place on September 4, 1995), independent outfit F1RST Wrestling ran their Saturday Night Nitro show from the Mall on Saturday.

The event - which was available to watch via FITE - featured indy stars, AEW talent and legends.

Among the names appearing on the sold-out show were Rob Van Dam, Ethan Page, Orange Cassidy, Lince Dorado, Dante Martin, Sonny Kiss, Ariya Daivari, Colt Cabana, Lisa Marie Varon (AKA Victoria), and Jerry Lynn.

The scheduled main event between RVD and Martin was interrupted by the Trustbusters (Kiss & Daivari), before being turned into a tag match (which Van Dam & Martin won).

In other highlights, Cassidy beat Effy and Colt Cabana received a sustained ovation during the entrance for his match (he beat Dak Draper).

Tweeting about the show the day after, Cabana wrote: "Last night @f1rstwrestling made history. Last night I wrestled at @mallofamerica. Last night I felt a lot of love and support from Minnesota. #SaturdayNightNitro".
