On this day in 2015, Daniel Bryan was forced to relinquish a WWE Championship for the second time in two years. 

Having been required to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship we won at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, Bryan would stand in the ring on the May 11 2015 episode of Raw to once again drop a belt - this time the Intercontinental Title - having won it at WrestleMania 31. 

Injury problems meant Bryan would eventually retire, before making his comeback and enjoying another successful run as a WWE Superstar, which seemed to come to an end on the April 30 episode of Smackdown. 

Injuries are, unfortunately, part and parcel of being a professional wrestler. But they aren't the only reason Titles and Championships are upheld.
