Reason Behind Brock Lesnar's December WWE SmackDown Return Reportedly Emerges

Lesnar is set to be back at SmackDown next month

Brock Lesnar is set for a return to WWE SmackDown on the December 10 episode, and the reason behind his comeback being booked for this date has reportedly been revealed.

It has previously been noted that the December 10 SmackDown was initially supposed to be presented from Cleveland but WWE moved the event to Los Angeles as a favour to the blue brand's television partners, FOX.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the December 10 episode of SmackDown is now being considered a 'major show' for both WWE and for FOX, with the show being put on for FOX executives so they can get a major FOX product being shown in FOX's home city.

With that in mind, WWE have elected to bring out the big guns, so to speak, and book Brock Lesnar for the show. It is likely Lesnar's appearance will start the build to his scheduled involvement at the WWE Royal Rumble 2022.

Lesnar is currently serving a storyline indefinite suspension from WWE, after attacking officials and Adam Pearce on October 22, but the Staples Center announced that The Beast has 'vowed' to purchase a ringside seat for the show on December 10.
