Report: Darby Allin's Next TNT Title Challenger Revealed

Darby Allin faced John Silver for the TNT Championship in the main event of last night's episode of AEW: Dynamite. Both men fought back and forth during a match in which Silver injured his shoulder and Darby managed to retain the gold after he countered a Powerbomb into Code Red. 

Johnny Hungee and Allin fist-bumped in the middle of the ring after the bell, but the TNT Champion was suddenly dragged out of the ring by Matt Hardy. This sparked a mass brawl involving Dark Order, Sting, Private Party, The Butcher & The Blade, Tay Conti and The Bunny and Dynamite went off the air with Darby beating down Big Money Matt after decking him with a Tope Suicida. 

Many suspected Matt Hardy was Allin's next challenger for the TNT Title after Dynamite and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio this is indeed the case.

Meltzer said: "That is in fact happening. I don't know if it's going to be next week or the week after but it's happening."

Since defeating Cody Rhodes for the TNT Championship at Full Gear 2020, Darby has successfully defended the gold four times against Brian Cage, Joey Janela, Scorpio Sky and the aforementioned John Silver.
