Report: How Bad Bunny Was Able To Wear The WWF Logo On WWE SmackDown Revealed

While the logo did not appear on SmackDown or in later YouTube clips showing the moment, Bad Bunny wore a hoodie emblazoned with the old scratch WWF logo that was used between 1998 and 2002 during his appearance on the pre-Backlash edition of Friday Night SmackDown. 

Despite Bad Bunny wearing the old WWF logo on WWE TV, there has been no change in the World Wildlife Fund's stance on WWE's use of their old logo, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Bad Bunny got away with wearing the hoodie because "basically nobody wanted to tell him not to."

WWF were forced to change their name to WWE in 2002 following legal action from the World Wildlife Fund, with the name change being promoted through the "Get the 'F' Out!" campaign, and WWF was rechristened World Wrestling Entertainment. 

The World Wildlife Fund initially objected to the 'WWF' name in 1993 and a settlement was agreed in 1994 in which the World Wrestling Federation agreed to not use the 'WWF' initials internationally, with allowances being made for the sale of older products and the odd reference on TV, such as calling someone the WWF Champion. 

Vince McMahon's organisation largely ignored the settlement but issues came to a head after the pro wrestling promotion registered for the 'WWF.com' domain name and created the scratch WWF logo. After legal action from the World Wildlife Fund, UK courts ruled against the pro wrestling promotion.
