Report: IMPACT Wrestling Draws Record Low Ratings On AXS TV

TV guide listings appear to have caused havoc

The July 1 episode of IMPACT Wrestling drew a record-low rating on AXS TV, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics

IMPACT has drawn over 100,000 viewers consistently throughout 2021, but the July 1 show was only watched by 69,000 total viewers. This beat out the previous record low on AXS TV of 78,000 from the September 8, 2020 episode.

The July 1 edition also drew 21,000 viewers in the key 18-49 demographic, which was enough for a 0.02 rating. This was the third-lowest rating since IMPACT moved to AXS TV, with the December 29, 2020, and the April 7, 2020 episodes both being lower at 19,000 in 18-49.

The low viewership appears to have been caused by issues with the TV guide listing. Some TV guides listed IMPACT as 'Set Up', while others had the show in the wrong timeslot.

IMPACT tweeted about the issue ahead of Thursday's show, writing: "IMPORTANT PROGRAMMING UPDATE: Sorry for any confusion but @AXSTV is having some tech issues with the guide listing, it's business as usual for all programming tonight with BTI, IMPACT and #IMPACTin60. We recommend you double check your DVR to ensure that IMPACT is set to record."

Last week's edition of IMPACT Wrestling continued the build to Slammiversary. The show was main evented by Team Callis vs. Team Dreamer, a match which featured Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers vs. Tommy Dreamer, Sami Callihan and Moose.
