Report: Injured Star Returning On WWE SmackDown

An injured star is set to return during tonight's season premiere episode of Friday Night SmackDown from Worcester, Massachusetts. 

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Zelina Vega will make her return tonight with a new, blonde look. She has already been spotted at Boston Airport. 

Vega has been out of action since the April 11 episode of Monday Night Raw when she lost to Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair in two minutes. It emerged shortly after that Vega was on the shelf with an injury that required surgery, although the nature of the injury was undisclosed. 

Vega is currently in her second run with WWE, having returned to the company in July 2021. Since then, she has become the first-ever Queen's Crown Tournament winner and held the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships with Carmella. 

Officially announced for WWE SmackDown is a face-to-face between Roman Reigns and Logan Paul, Gunther vs. Sheamus II for the Intercontinental Title, and Ricochet vs. Solo Sikoa.
