Report: Jade Cargill To Undergo Character Change

Jade Cargill will be taking some time off too, according to reports

After 60 victories, Jade Cargill's undefeated streak came to an end at Double or Nothing as 'That B*tch' lost to Kris Statlander in an impromptu match at Double or Nothing to also end her reign as TBS Champion. The match came about after Cargill defeated Taya Valkyrie and Mark Sterling stated in a post-match promo that Jade would put the TBS Title on the line any time, any place.

It first emerged back in March that Kris Statlander was originally planned to be the wrestler to end Cargill's streak and AEW ultimately revisited those plans at Double or Nothing. Fightful Select reported that Statlander has been planned as the person to beat Cargill "dating back at least several weeks".

Statlander had been out of action since August of 2022 with a torn ACL but she has often been on the road with AEW despite the injury and she recently worked out in the ring ahead of an episode of Dynamite.

Statlander's win will also lead to Jade Cargill taking some time off soon if not immediately, Fightful noted. When she returns from hiatus, it will be with "a personality shift down the road." If that personality shift is a babyface turn is unknown. Cargill has been a heel since she made her AEW debut back in November 2020, even leading her own heel faction in The Baddies.
