Report: Kurt Angle's Nixed WWE Plans Revealed

Angle was rumoured to return for the Royal Rumble

It has recently been revealed that WWE reached out to Kurt Angle about a potential return to WWE TV following the Royal Rumble, with Angle himself revealing that plans were eventually nixed.

Now, a report from Fightful Select has shed some more light on what WWE may have had in store for Angle,  with the WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist originally set to get involved with the Alpha Academy/RK-Bro WWE RAW Tag Team Title feud.

The report states that there were plans in place for a ‘Three ‘I’s Challenge’ playing on Angle’s catchphrase of ‘Intensity, Integrity, and Intelligence’, with this week’s ‘Quiz Bowl’ section on WWE RAW likely to have come out of this idea.

There were also discussions to have Angle involved with Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, with ‘The Wrestling Machine’ possibly taking a special guest referee role in a tag title clash between the two teams.

Angle has made several appearances for WWE since his release in 2020, and had his retirement match in the company at 2019’s WrestleMania 35, in a shock loss to Baron Corbin.
