Report: MLW Alleges Contract Tampering On The Part Of WWE

Issue between the two promotions...

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that attorneys from Major League Wrestling have engaged WWE attorneys this week, regarding allegations that WWE has attempted to tamper with the contracts of MLW performers.

The allegations are reportedly not in response to Davey Boy Smith, Jr appearing this past Wednesday on the WWE series The Bump, but are regarding "multiple talents".

The language in MLW contracts forbids talents from working WWE dates, so any instance of WWE reaching out to a contracted MLW talent would be seen as a breach of contract. Following the launch of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, MLW has strengthened the exclusivity of the contracts.

One source from MLW claimed that they had an "abundance" of evidence to bolster their case, should the matter ever go to court.

Major League Wrestling reformed in the summer of 2017, after initially running events between 2002 and 2004. Current top stars of the promotion include Jacob Fatu, Alexander Hammerstone, Davey Boy Smith, Jr, Brian Pillman, Jr, Low Ki, The Von Erichs, and former UFC competitor "Filthy" Tom Lawlor.
