Report: NJPW Accidentally Leaks G1 Climax 31 Spoiler

A spoiler for the upcoming G1 Climax 31 briefly leaked on New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Japanese website. 

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a preview article on NJPW's site of the October 18 card at the Yokohama Budokan noted the winner of Kota Ibushi vs. KENTA would be "alive to go to the finals" on October 21. 

Both men are competing in the A Block of The Tournament of Tournaments and the finals of the block are set to be held on October 18, meaning both KENTA and Ibushi will be alive heading into the last day.

G1 Climax 31 began earlier today with the first matches from the A Block. The participants in the tournament are as follows: 

A Block:

  • Kota Ibushi - 7th entry
  • Shingo Takagi - 3rd entry
  • Tetsuya Naito - 12th entry 
  • Zack Sabre Jr. - 5th entry
  • Great O-Khan - 1st entry
  • Toru Yano - 16th entry
  • Tomohiro Ishii - 9th entry
  • KENTA - 3rd entry
  • Tanga Loa - 1st entry
  • Yujiro Takahashi - 8th entry 


B Block:

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi - 20th entry 
  • Kazuchika Okada - 10th entry
