Report: Reason WWE Booked Roman Reigns Vs. Logan Paul For Crown Jewel Revealed

Keeping the Saudis happy with Logan Paul vs. Roman Reigns

A major match will headline WWE's Crown Jewel pay-per-view on November 5 when Roman Reigns defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia.

The match appeared to come out of nowhere, with Paul having only had two WWE matches, but the reason the YouTube star will challenge for the gold has been revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer, Reigns vs. Paul was put together to please the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman as he wants matches that will turn media attention to Saudi Arabia.

"He's [Logan Paul] a big deal in Saudi Arabia. He's a big deal to the Saudi Arabian prince and that's the whole thing of these shows...Tickets in Saudi Arabia mean nothing. It's not even part of the game. Of course, TV numbers whatever. If he draws younger viewers, that's good but it's not a play for TV ratings. It is a play because the prince wants celebrity fights in Saudi Arabia to build the name in the media of Saudi Arabia and Logan Paul will get more of the type of press that Saudi Arabia is looking for than Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins. That's what Saudi Arabia is there for. Saudi Arabia is for matches that the prince wants that will get press attention around the world for Saudi Arabia so this is a great match for that," Meltzer said on Sunday Night's Main Event.

Logan Paul might also have some backup for his match at Crown Jewel as his brother Jake Paul teased he would head to Saudi Arabia for the show.
