Report: Santana Missed AEW: Dynamite Due To Sickness

He was nowhere to be seen when The Inner Circle drenched The Pinnacle

One week after their loss at Blood & Guts, The Inner Circle crashed The Pinnacle's coronation and channelled their inner 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and Kurt Angle as they drenched MJF's faction with a Little Bit of the Bubbly.

The Inner Circle convinced MJF to give them a rematch during the segment and The Salt Of The Earth challenged them to a Stadium Stampede match at Double Or Nothing on May 30. Chris Jericho's group hasn't responded to the challenge yet, but they are expected to accept in the coming weeks.

One member of The Inner Circle in Santana was absent during the segment, though, and Ortiz explained MJF had his tag team partner arrested for using a fork during Blood & Guts.

Santana, of course, isn't actually in jail and Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the former IMPACT World Tag Team Champion was absent from Dynamite due to sickness and he had been kept off the show as a precaution.

The illness comes after a rough week for Santana. Not only is he under the weather, but Chris Jericho noted on his podcast that the Proud & Powerful man "messed up his back" during Blood & Guts after taking a bump between the apron and the cage.
