Report: Scrapped AEW Plans For Killer Kross Revealed

Was Killer Kross scheduled for an AEW appearance?

Since his shock WWE release in 2021, Killer Kross has been working on the independent scene, as well as plying his trade in NJPW STRONG and CYN. But reports indicate the former NXT Champion was scheduled to appear for AEW as well.

The report - via Fightful Select - suggests Kross was earmarked for a match with Wardlow in ‘Mr. Mayhem’s quest to get his hands on MJF, but ultimately fought IMPACT Wrestling’s W. Morrissey on the May 4 edition of Dynamite instead.

Kross allegedly met with AEW over coming in, but the two sides couldn’t agree on terms so the deal was ultimately scrapped. The report further suggests that Kross became worried as the potential appearance date grew closer, as Kross' wife and valet Scarlett Bordeaux wasn’t factored into the presentation, with Kross allegedly not wanting his AEW introduction to go similar to his much maligned main roster WWE debut against Jeff Hardy.

Sources in AEW told Fightful that Kross and AEW remain on good terms, with the possibility being that the two sides could work together in the future.
