Report: Steve Austin, Kevin Owens May Be Confrontation Instead Of Match

Austin has not yet agreed to a match

While Stone Cold Steve Austin is slated to appear at WrestleMania 38 next month, it may come in the form of a "confrontation" as opposed to an actual match.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that while Austin has not yet agreed to a match on the card, and that WWE's plans for him to work with Kevin Owens may take another form.

"They will have a confrontation but it is not clear if that will be a match or not anymore," Meltzer said. "It's essentially up to Austin at this point. They want the match, they thought they had the match and Steve ... there's a reason he hasn't wrestled in 19 years. I just know that as of Friday, he had not agreed to do the match even though it was on the books. Now, it's on the books as a confrontation."

Austin's last match came on March 30, 2003, when he lost to The Rock at WrestleMania 19.

Owens has spent the past several weeks running down the state of Texas (WrestleMania 38's location, and Austin's home state) on social media and in promos.
