Report: Triple H Planning To 'Stack' WWE WrestleMania 40, Wants To Bring Back 2 Major Names

Will The Rock and Steve Austin be back for next year's WrestleMania?

WrestleMania 39 isn't in the books yet, but Paul 'Triple H' Levesque is already thinking forward to WrestleMania 40, according to a new report.

The WrestleVotes Twitter account (via GiveMeSport) noted that The Game is planning to 'stack' next year's Show of Shows, stressing that it 'means something' to him as it will be the 40th-anniversary edition.

Part of that 'stacking' could mean the WrestleMania returns of Steve Austin and The Rock, with WrestleVotes noting that 'the door is open' for both of them to appear and potentially wrestle at the show.

The Texas Rattlesnake came out of retirement at last year's WrestleMania, where he beat Kevin Owens in an unadvertised (but expected) No Holds Barred Match to round off night one. It was his first match since losing to The Rock at WrestleMania XIX in 2003.

The Brahma Bull, meanwhile, last wrestled in a loss to John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 29 in 2013 (disregarding his six-second victory over Erick Rowan three years later).

Both men turned down the opportunity to wrestle at this year's WrestleMania, with The Rock rejecting a match with Roman Reigns and Austin saying no to matches with Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

WrestleMania 40 will emanate from Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on April 6 & 7, 2024.
