Report: Update On John Cena's WWE WrestleMania 38 Status

Will Cena be back for 'Mania?

While several big names will perform at WrestleMania 38, including Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and exhibition boxing star Logan Paul, John Cena looks set to miss this year's edition of The Showcase Of The Immortals.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Cena's name was discussed for WrestleMania but in the same way as "everyone was discussed." Cena was noted as being unavailable for a match at The Show Of Shows, though, meaning he won't be in action on April 2 or April 3.

A reason behind Cena not working 'Mania is his acting commitments, primarily stemming from the fear he could get injured which would delay production, similar to The Rock at WrestleMania 29 which caused filming of Hercules to be pushed back.

Cena last performed for WWE at SummerSlam 2021 when he unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. That match was the 44-year-old's first on WWE TV since WrestleMania 36 when he lost a Firefly Funhouse Match to Bray Wyatt.
